Hot dry winds of the south brought the land blessings of fire.
Fire
consumes, creating space for new growth and liberating long-dormant
seeds.
During fall and winter the land slept beneath the blanket of ashes, preparing, preparing.
The winds of the east call you to witness and manifest the magic of this spring’s dawn.
From
the bases of blackened limbs, bright greens beckons. Fire blessed the
land, and now craves your heart. Your heart and only your sweet heart
knows what needs to unfurl.
“We are an old people
We are a new people
We are the same people
Different than before.”
We, the Santa Cruz Radical Faeries, invite fae-identified folk—cooks,
musicians, dreamers, poets, singers, lovers, drummers, dancers,
creators of all sorts—to join together to create this loving space.
Bring
your gifts to share as we gather from May 14 17 on the land of Farmer
John in the mountains above Big Sur. What would sprout from you if you
left fear behind, freeing the spirit within? Who would you become?
What blessing would you be?
Please register now or sooner. Because many
aspects of gathering preparation depend on how many people will attend,
we need to know your plans in advance. The registration deadline is
April 23rd.
To sustain and nourish our bodies during the
gathering, and leave the land and its buildings as we found them,
everyone who attends the gathering should expect to contribute at least
two two-hour service shifts in the kitchen or during cleanup.
Hi Faes I'm interested in nailing down a date to go help Elena clean up. I've got a similar number of available folks for this coming Saturday the 14th and for the following Saturday the 21st. Any other takers? I'll call Elena with our available date when I have, say, at least 5 people who can make it. Just let me know your best weekend dates this month. Here are my SC Pride pics. Y'all are lovely. http://gallery.mac.com/crossgrove#100075 LoveCarl
Hi Faes, I visited Wind Tree on Saturday before Pride. I took my camera to document the current state of things. The situation is shocking, yet hopeful. Most of Elena's buildings were saved, Blessed be! http://gallery.mac.com/crossgrove#100060&view=grid&bgcolor=black&sel=9 Elena is understandably in need of support, both physical and emotional. I'd like to find a date in June that a group of us can go up to Wind Tree and make ourselves available to Elena to help in any way she needs: re-establishing paths, cutting wood, clearing debris. We can stay there overnight if we like and continue working the next day, or depart as available. If you are free for one or 2 workdays on a weekend this month, please reply and we'll plan to carpool and meet at Wind Tree that day. When we have a date, Elena can let us know what to bring. Most likely we will get very dirty. Whatever it takes!
Hi All, a couple of folks have enquired how to do this. You're all welcome to post photos here: anyone who has been checked off (it's a manual process, by me) as a faerie can do it. (can you say spam?)
Easy, but not particularly intuitive...the price of an understated interface.
Here goes
Hi All, we know of at least one person who thinks that they signed up for Beltane, but does not show up on the list: please check to see if you really did. Note that this requires a completed payment.
If your sign up completed, you would have gotten a page with a Confirmation Code, some gobblegook number, and an email as well.
If you're coming please send an email to me directly at kwai6969@gmail.com.
Registration will close monday night, 8pm.
Hugs and Blessings.

Dearest Faes,
Our gatherings in the spring and fall have given me so much wonderful juice for life, for growth, for joy in my daily life.
Summer Weeds:
A Summer Solstice Declaration
Donald L. Engstrom-Reese
2007
Like summer weeds,
We thrive under sun and moon.
We embrace the greening of the Earth.
We embrace the feral honeys
Streaming through our flesh and bone.
We embrace the exuberant winds
Filling each breath with spirit.
We embrace summer.
Dancing with honeybees and bears
Through thunder storms and lightning strikes,
Swimming with trout and wild pigs
